The American College of Education (2024) refers to Microlearning as quick, short, "bite sized" amounts of learning that can be easily presented and consumed by a learner. They are usually 3-5 minutes and focus on one objective. These trainings are usually presented through short videos, infographics, or steps to be taken. The trainings can have follow up activities that allow for micro assessments (American College of Education, 2024).
My Microlearning training fits into this design because it adheres to the definition in several different ways. The training is short, focuses on 1-2 learning objectives, is produced using a video with screen recording of a skill being used, and concludes by having learners participate in a micro assessment which requires them to complete the skill being taught and then provide an example of the accomplished skill through a discussion board on Padlet
